Reset Adaptations

In order to reset DME adaptations, you first must connect to your car.  Next select the tab Codes > Reset Adaptations.  Adaptation resets should only be performed if you are troubleshooting a particular issue and you want to eliminate a learned behavior / value from the list of possible causes.  The following adaptations can be reset:

  • Lambda sensors

  • Intake mass flow

  • Throttle: after reset, turn ignition off and then back on, wait for 30 seconds before starting the engine!

  • Lambda regulation (learned lambda/ltft)

  • Load control

  • HPFP system

  • Octane rating

  • VANOS

  • Knock regulation (learned knock control)

  • Idle

  • Register Battery (only if new battery is same size / type as previous)

How To Reset Adaptions:

  1. Make Sure ignition is fully on (fuel gauge must show fuel level, on G-Series cars press start button 3 times in row to activate “Diag Mode”), make sure engine is OFF.

  2. Reset all adaptions you want to reset

  3. Turn off ignition

  4. Leave the car and lock the doors

  5. Wait at least 10 min

  6. Go back to the car and turn on ignition / diag mode again, wait 10s

  7. Start the engine
